3rd ILA Lead Occupational Exposure Management Workshop
Strategies for meeting new voluntary industry blood lead targets

In preparation for launching a new industry employee blood lead target the International Lead Association will host the Third Lead Occupational Exposure Management Workshop prior to the 20th International Lead Conference (Pb2017).

This important one-day event, co-hosted by EUROBAT, will share best practice through presentations on the practical measures that can be taken to reduce worker blood lead levels and concludes with a facilitated information sharing session to encourage in-depth discussions with fellow EHS professionals.

The sessions are as follows:

  • Background briefing on legislation, science and the current performance of the lead industry
  • Overview of industry performance to meet the end-2016 blood lead target (no employees exceeding 30mcg/dL) and the introduction of the new ILA, EUROBAT and BCI voluntary blood lead reduction target
  • Best practice sharing from companies in the recycling, battery manufacturing and lead sheet industries
  • Tactics for lowering blood leads in long service employees
  • Show & Tell on key topics such as procedural and engineering controls, financial incentive schemes and new employee induction programs
  • Medical professional perspectives on workplace exposure issues
