ALABC workshop discusses innovation in advanced lead batteries
The Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium (ALABC) has held its first technical lead battery workshop in North America to discuss advances in technology for current and future market opportunities.
More than 60 technical and scientific delegates from across the industry gathered in Durham, North Carolina, at the Innovations in Lead Acid Batteries (ILAB) 2014 Workshop.
The three-day workshop featured 24 presentations, with topics ranging from the mechanism of the carbon effect and battery monitoring/management systems to recent and novel designs for both automotive and stationary energy storage applications. Each session included a brainstorming effort in which attendees discussed the presentations and proposed ideas for further research, many of which will help structure the next ALABC research and development program in 2016.
ILAB attendees can still view and comment on various presentations at the ILAB attendee web portal (password required). For more information on the ILAB event, visit the ALABC webpage, or contact the ALABC offices.
