ILA appoints Communications Manager
The International Lead Association (ILA) has appointed Bob Tolliday as its first-ever Communications Manager.
“We would like to welcome Bob to his new role which will play an important part in the ILA’s renewed drive to promote both the association and the lead mining and lead producing industries worldwide,” said ILA Managing Director, Dr Andy Bush.
Bob will be working on all aspects of ILA’s internal and external communications and its relations with members and other stakeholders.
Bob studied History at Cambridge University and went on to work as a reporter on regional newspapers before moving to Which? magazines as a consumer writer. He worked there for 13 years on its consumer travel magazine, its main title and Which? Online, becoming the principal investigative reporter and a regular spokesperson on radio and television and in the press.
Since then Bob has worked in media relations for the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), a government agency and as communications manager at the Institute for Family Business (IFB) the trade association for the UK’s family business sector. Bob helped to set up the association’s in-house communications department and its public affairs functions
