South32 pledges AU $500,000 to support people affected by bushfires in Australia
ILA member, South32 has pledged AU $500,000 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund and the Perth Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund to help support those affected by the bushfires in Perth, Western Australia. The donation will be split between the two funds and provide direct assistance to people and communities impacted by the fires and will also go towards bushfire emergency services work.
South32 CEO Graham Kerr said: “Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the bushfires. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to all the emergency services staff and volunteers working so hard to keep our communities safe. “This has been a very difficult time for many communities in Western Australia and we are proud to lend a helping hand.”
South32 is also matching employee contributions to a number of organisations supporting the bushfire response and recovery efforts.
