The impact of ILA during the European Week for Safety & Health at Work

It’s the European Week for Safety & Health at Work – #EUhealthyworkplaces. A core part of ILA’s mission is to encourage continual reduction in workplace lead exposures across our global membership. In the last few months alone, we’ve showcased the great success of two of our member companies, H. J. Enthoven and KCM, who are pioneering innovative ways to manage and reduce occupational lead exposure to improve the health and safety of employees and the environment in which they work.

Since 2013, we have seen a nearly 50% reduction in the numbers of employees in ILA member companies with a blood lead exceeding our voluntary target of 20µg/dl, and the average worker blood lead in companies in ILA membership is now less than 13µg/dl.

Together with Eurobat, ILA  arranges annual hands-on workshops for lead producers and lead battery manufacturers designed to share best practice and the latest technology available to deliver the highest levels of safety at their workplaces. Check out H. J. Enthoven’s recent blog here.
