Pb2025 programme gauges global impact of political and economic challenges
The impact of market and political trends on the lead and lead battery industries from Europe to the U.S. and China are included in the programme for Pb2025 in Amsterdam June 25-27.
The full programme for this year’s Pb2025 lead conference, organised by the International Lead Association, includes keynotes from KPMG and analysts, the CRU Group, with intelligence and data on lead markets and the outlook for lead batteries.
Amid changes in global markets and the impact of trade tensions, the conference will consider the outlook for the lead battery industry, with speakers including Dr Christian Rosenkranz, Vice President Industry and Governmental Relations EMEA, at Clarios on automotive batteries, and Dr Norbert Maleschitz, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, at East Penn Manufacturing, on energy storage opportunities and challenges.
The impact of a potential lead surplus in China and an update on the Chinese market will be the subject of a presentation by Huw Roberts, of CHR Metals.
Day one of Pb2025 also includes a detailed update on regulatory and policy changes in Europe and north America with expert input from ILA’s regulatory affairs team. And the global perspective continues with Susan Bernard, Vice President, Government Relations and Sustainability, Battery Council International presenting the regulatory picture from the United States and Jianbin Ming, Director of Economics and Environment, ILZSG on developments in China.
Dr Andy Bush, Executive Director of ILA, said: “With so many global developments impacting our industry, discussions at Pb2025 will be important for anyone with an interest in the future of the lead and lead battery industries.”
He added: “We will be presenting the most up-to-date data and analysis on markets and analysing the impact of political and regulatory changes in key regions. As always there are many networking opportunities for attendees to continue the debate and discuss business. And all of this against the great backdrop of Amsterdam as the host city.”
Ahead of the two-day conference programme, two workshops will conduct a deep dive on key industry subjects. The workplace lead exposure management workshop will be an opportunity to hear the latest information on environmental, health and safety issues including practical updates on workplace lead exposure management. And the Consortium for Battery Innovation will assess future market opportunities for lead batteries, focusing on two key applications for lead batteries: their role in supporting electric vehicles through auxiliary systems; and their potential in utility and energy storage solutions.
