Advanced battery research

Cutting-edge research taking lead batteries to a new level

Over 85% of global lead is now used in the production of automotive and industrial batteries. As societies around the world move towards a carbon neutral future, batteries will play and increasingly bigger role. For lead batteries to continue to contribute to energy storage solutions they must continually evolve and improve to meet end-user demands.

Supported by the International Lead Association, the Consortium for Battery Innovation is the only global pre-competitive research organization promoting innovation in lead batteries for energy storage, motive and automotive applications

With an expert panel made up of the world’s leading battery manufacturers and research specialists, the Consortium is setting the standard for advanced lead batteries and the next generation of energy storage.

That is why the Consortium for Battery Innovation is focusing on research projects which will make a tangible difference to lead battery performance, and which meet the ever-increasing demands of end-users.
