Commission should postpone decision on lead metal environmental classification

Published by Jarman@ila-lead.org 10th March, 2022

ILA has criticised the EU chemicals agency ECHA over inconsistencies in the way it has assessed lead compared to other metals for the labelling of hazardous substances. In a position paper, ILA calls on the European Commission to postpone any decision on changes to the classification, labelling and packaging rules affecting lead to ensure “the principle of non-discrimination” is maintained.
