Position paper on Commission proposal for amending EU BOEL and BLV for Lead and inorganic compounds

In a position paper, ILA and nine supporting EU Trade Associations have called on co-legislators to propose amendments to the newly published EU Commission proposal for revised binding workplace Occupational (BOELV) and Biological Limit Values (BLV) for Lead. The Commission proposal for a lowered OEL has not been subject to the required impact assessment and is likely to be technically very challenging for most sectors and entail excessive cost. Moreover, transitional measures are necessary to give Industry sufficient time to achieve ambitious new BLVs.
